About AJ

Movement As Medicine.

Early in my life I discovered the power of movement and exercise. Having been a lifeguard as a young teenager, I taught swim lessons to children with special needs and watched their functional limitations become virtually undetectable in the water - which translated to improved function on land. That is when my curiosity and passion began.

I found the field of physical therapy and went on to get my Bachelors in Health Science from Quinnipiac University and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Dominican University.

Throughout my education I had the privilege of working in diverse settings surrounded by the top professionals in my field. It was then that I learned the power of education, manual therapy and targeted exercise.

While working at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City I treated individuals immediately following orthopedic surgery and guided their healing process weeks and months after to get them back to what they love.

I have seen the failings of the healthcare and insurance systems and how they impact the outcomes of many individuals post-operatively as well as those suffering from chronic pain or acute injury. I decided that I would begin my practice with one vision: creating a model that allows me to truly provide the individual patient with the care they deserve.

My goal is to empower individuals through movement - not only those suffering from pain or injury but also those who want to optimize their life.
